On June 24, 2009, AAA Alarms, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. (MTS), and SecurTek, a wholly-owned SaskTel subsidiary, announced a joint agreement.

In the agreement, AAA Alarms acquired SecurTek's Manitoba customer accounts from SecurTek in exchange for AAA Alarm's accounts outside of Manitoba, predominately in Alberta. The transition resulted in SecurTek becoming one of the largest providers in Alberta while AAA Alarms will further strengthen its position as the leading security provider in Manitoba.

SecurTek and AAA Alarms begam servicing their respective customers effective June 29, 2009. Both companies have agreed to honour existing contracts and pricing and are committed to ensuring service continues uninterrupted during and after the transition.

SecurTek maintained its monitoring station in Winnipeg as it provides redundancy for monitoring services, enables further growth in customer accounts and is an effective and economical complement to the Yorkton monitoring station.
