SECURTEK PARTNERS WITH SASKATOON COMPANY TO SERVE SENIORS

March 7, 2002 - SecurTek and Saskatoon-based Millennium Automation have formed a partnership to offer a new service that will bring a measure of comfort and personal security to seniors living as tenants in multi-unit complexes.

Peace of mind for elderly people living alone and for their loved ones is becoming more and more important these days. SecurTek SafetyNet can make the difference between life and death in an emergency. It’s hard to put a price on that kind of security but SecurTek has made it very affordable by partnering with Millennium Automation.

“With this partnership, SecurTek adds an attractive and profitable service to our line, Millennium expands its business, and seniors gain an affordable and reliable personal security option,” said Al Rogers, SecurTek President.

SecurTek SafetyNet provides a direct and instantaneous alarm contact between the tenant living in the suite and SecurTek’s 24 hour monitoring station. A person using the service simply wears a SafetyNet pendant around the neck or as a wristband. If the tenant presses the button, the SafetyNet system places an automated call to the suite to be certain it is an emergency. If there is no answer after six rings, the monitoring station dispatches an emergency response team to the building where they receive a computer printout generated by the SafetyNet system and containing relevant information about the person in need, including medical data.

The technology for SecurTek SafetyNet comes from Millennium Automation Inc. Millennium’s system has several advantages over competitive products, including an easy-to-use false alarm cancellation feature. In the event of a false alarm, the tenant simply presses any key on their telephone to cancel. In addition to its affordability and automated false alarm cancellation feature, a third advantage of SafetyNet is that, as a wireless system, it can easily be installed in both new and existing buildings.

Millennium Automation is very excited about our partnership with SecurTek, “said Martin Krienke, President of Millennium. “It was our mandate to produce a product which all seniors could afford, and at the same time enjoy the high tech capabilities of an advanced system. Thanks to SecurTek’s extensive experience in the areas of security monitoring and telecommunications, we were able to develop a personal response system unlike anything available on the market today.”
